Rev. Mark E. Lewis, Senior Pastor

Rev. Mark E. Lewis has been passionately serving the Lord since his youth. He embraced God’s call to preach the Gospel at the tender age of 8 years old and was shepherded and shaped by the late, Reverend Arthur Navarre, Sr. at First Baptist Church of Schriever, LA. 

Pastor Mark has been growing in his work for God for nearly 30 years. He served faithfully as the Youth Pastor at Progressive Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA from July 2009 to September 2013. 

On October 11, 2013, he was installed as Senior Pastor at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of New Iberia, LA. 

Later, he was called to accept the stewardship of the St. James Baptist Church of Gibson, LA, in March 2021. 

He went on to serve as Associate Pastor at Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist, Church of Houston, TX, under the leadership of The Reverend Terry K. Anderson. 

On April 11, 2026, Rev. Mark Lewis accept the call to serve as Senior Pastor-Elect of The Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX.

Rev. Mark Lewis received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from the United Theological Seminary of Monroe, LA. He also earned the Master of Arts degree in Theology and Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Rev. Mark Lewis is a loving husband and devoted father. He and his wife, Hillary, have 4 young children: Mackenzie Grace, Navarre Elliot, Amari Dion, and Marcus Clay.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading and time with his family.

His life’s verse is Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
