Dr. Curtis W. Wallace, Senior Pastor

Dr. Curtis Wilbert Wallace is a native of Paris, Texas.  After graduating from Gibbons High School in 1966, he attended Paul Quinn College and Houston Baptist University.  He earned a Bachelor of Theology degree from Union Bible College and Seminary of Houston, Texas, a Master of Arts degree from Survine Theological Seminary of Denver, Colorado (formerly Aspen Theological Seminary of Aurora, Colorado), and a Doctorate of Ministry from Houston Graduate School of Theology.

Dr. Wallace delivered his first sermon in April 1974 and served as coadjutant to the pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Paris, Texas, where he later became the Pastor. He has served as Pastor of the Lily Grove Baptist Church in Houston, and presently serves as Pastor of The Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.

Under his leadership the following ministries have been organized: Singles, Marriage and Family Enrichment, Worship and Fine Arts Ministry (W.F.A.M.), Boys to Men Mentoring Program, Homemaking, Pilgrim Rest Overcomers Program (P.R.O.P.), Soul Winners Action Team (S.W.A.T.), Caring and Reaching Everyone (C.A.R.E.), The God Chasers of PRBC Book Club and Noon Day Bible Study.  On October 26, 2003, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the opening of “Pilgrim Rest Village”, a senior citizen apartment complex.  Dr. Wallace recently started a Transitional Ministry in November, 2008 which provides an alternative to traditional church service in an effort to reach lost souls.

Dr. Wallace is affiliated with the National Baptist Convention of America Inc., Missionary General Baptist Convention, African American Pastors Coalition, and Houston Graduate School of Theology Board of Trustees.

Dr. Wallace loves the Lord and serves faithfully in his daily life.  He is saved, sanctified and filled with the precious Holy Ghost.  He humbly subscribes to the saying, “For we walk by faith and not by sight”, 2 Corinthians 5:7.
